PM Hun Sen Congratulates New Malaysian Prime Minister

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen  has congratulated the new Prime Minister of Malaysia Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. He is the 9th appointed Prime Minister in Malaysia after former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin stepped down from his post.

Prime Minister Hun Sen says in a letter, "The trust and confidence in Your Excellency to lead your nation is indeed enormous, as Malaysia, like the rest of the world, strives to control the resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic and address its grave impact on people's life and economy." He has expressed his firm belief that under Yaakob's leadership, Malaysia will emerge stronger from the current difficulties and challenges to achieve steady high growth and further socio-economic progress in every dimension.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has added, "Cambodia and Malaysia enjoy long-lasting relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation in various fields. Our trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges have seen substantial increase and still growing. I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen and expand these excellent ties and cooperation for the mutual benefits of our peoples and for peace, stability and security, as well as for building a resilient ASEAN community."
